Correct Use Of PPE

You must always use the correct work PPE including appropriate clothing, footwear and safety equipment. PPE must be kept in a good clean & serviceable condition at all times.

At no time should you ever work on live parts.
All electrical tools should be appropriately insulated.
All leads should be test & tagged every 3 months accordingly.

You and all staff members on site have read the appropriate control measures for the specific works you are undertaking and agree to the responsibility of following those control measures

Hierarchy Of Control - System to asses and eliminate hazards

  1. ELIMINATION – eliminate the hazard entirely.

  2. SUBSTITUTION – replacing the material or process with a less hazardous one.

  3. ENGINEERING – redesign the equipment or work process to reduce or eliminate the risk.

  4. ISOLATION – isolate the hazard from persons by enclosing or guarding.

  5. ADMINISTRATION – adjusting the time or conditions of risk exposure, procedures to manage the risk.

  6. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT – using appropriately designed and properly fitting equipment where other controls are not practicable.

COVID-19 Response

Please ensure you regularly disinfect yourself along with your tools and clothing. Keep yourself 1.5m Distance from other people at all times, including clients. Make sure to remind clients of this need. Use respirator when required and refrain from touching your face or mouth. Limit touching things that you can avoid as apart of the job.

Emergency Response - Dial 000

If work is to be conducted on a construction site (or a site controlled by another Employer / PCBU) follow the site-specific Emergency Management Plan. Ensure:

  • Adequate numbers of first aid trained staff are on site

  • First aiders are trained & competent in managing injuries until emergency services arrive

  • All rescue equipment is in good condition, available for use and in close proximity to the work site.

Ensure workers have access to:

  • First aid kit/supplies

  • First Aid trained personnel familiar with resuscitation and emergency response for electric shock

  • M/SDS

  • Communication devices (check mobile phones will have service in area)

  • Suitable fire protection equipment.
